Charge Against Air Force Cadet Dropped

From ABC News:

Deputy District Attorney Diana May filed a motion Wednesday to dismiss the first-degree sexual assault charge against Nicholas O. Martin, 21, saying the alleged victim refused to testify. The motion said the girl's reasons for doing so were personal.

"This young man's reputation has been soiled and damaged by this allegation. He'll live with that for the remainder of his life."
I'm sure this situation will have many shouting "Another false rape allegation!" But I can guarantee none of those people know what it's like to be a teenage rape victim. She'll also live with this for the rest of her life.

Since this cadet admits to having sex with the alleged victim, he could have avoided the stigma of being an accused rapist by just saying no to sex with a minor.
