House to Vote on Praising Police Treatment of McKinney

Rather than allowing the investigation into the confrontation between a Capitol Police officer and Rep. Cynthia McKinney to be resolved through the proper channels, House Republicans are trying to pass a resolution to commend the police force for its professionalism.

A Capitol Police officer failed to recognize that Rep. McKinney shouldn't have been stopped. And the Capitol Police should get a commendation when that lapse brings into question the security at our nation's capitol.

Think about it. The official word was she wouldn't have been stopped if she had been wearing a lapel pin. So a counterfeit pin is all it would have taken for an unauthorized person to circumvent Capitol security?
