Men Rape Woman Unconscious On Park Bench

A rape of an unconscious woman happened in the middle of the day at a New York City park. When these types of rapes are reported comments like this one are appallingly common:
What was with this woman passed out on this bench? Next time she won't get so intoxicated.

Would this person be so quick to view rape as a lesson for the victim if it was disclosed that the woman had lost consciousness due to a heart attack? The answer is likely no, but the victim blaming this person does contributes to the rapes of those even the most virulent victim blamers view as blameless. Excusing any rapist helps all rapists.

Thankfully, many people reject rape as a lesson and one of those who rejected this idea called for help so that 2 men were arrested and the woman could be protected from additional harm.

It's also worth noting that neither that article nor the one it linked to mentioned alcohol. The commenter just assumed it.

Sickening that two male rapists attacked an unconscious woman and then to read some individuals clearly accept it is a man's right to commit rape upon any woman who is unconscious. Would these fine upstanding citizens blame a man if he was unconscious and two other males raped him? Certainly not - but blaming women is endemic and conveniently excuses and justifies those men who commit sexual violence against women and girls.

I now await claims that any man who is murdered by another male is to blame for causing his own death and the murderer has not committed a crime because individuals must always be 110% responsible for their safety and welfare. Society must not interfere in one individual's right to attack another individual unless of course the person being attacked is male.

Rape is a crime last time I checked and yet apparently men who commit rape have committed no crime because the female victim(s) not the male rapist(s) are always responsible for their actions.

Yeah. There's a commenter who asks "what you're supposed to do" when you find an unconscious woman. Well, maybe NOT rape her? See if she's ok or needs help (unconscious people often do, I'm told)? Did I mention NOT RAPE HER? How hard is this? Well, it's not hard at all of course, it's just that commenters like that are in favour of rape.
